Problems with burning.

I cannot burn discs. Everything goes through Shrink and then the burning process fails. What makes it worse is that I cannot subsequently burn from my HD as Nero seems unable to recognise the movies that I can see listed.
In use is a new burner - Emprex (which works on making CDs) - and the Nero OEM suite that came with it. All the settings have been checked using the available guides - including the obvious one of 'enable burning with Nero'.
Originally I used Roxio 6 and saw advice to take it off my PC. With or without it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Obviously there is something basically wrong. Any advice at all would be appreciated.

Try outputting an ISO and burn with DVD Decrypter.

You could post your errror log from Nero here.
