i need some help, i've got a nec nd 2500 a firmware 1.07
but i cannot burn at 8 speed.
can't find a solution
i've tried princo8x ,ridata8x and arita 8x.
maybe it's a hardware problem

This will allow 8x on most makes.It will turn the 2500 into a duel layer burner.Rip lock removal.Bitseting DVD+R to DVD-ROM enjoy.

This was put out by NEC when the firmware mods hacked the 2500 because they thought it would damage sales of the 2510.
This is old news and has been extensively discussed at the NEC forum over at cdfreaks.Not one 2500 using modified firmware has been reported as being damaged.Stock firmware for this drive stinks.NEC support stinks. Its the firmware mods who made this good writer into a great writer

I have found a little more info about the Media your firmware 1.07 will support at x8 Here

There are more x8 +R media supported than x8 -R maybe this will help when chosing which media to buy.

If your in the uk try Here

Maybe a couple of emails to Nec will help in the release of a official firmware version that will support more x8 media of both the +/- flavour. (I would, it's free and armed with facts the pressure is on).
