Divx or mpeg as data into DVD

Will stacionary DVD player (e.g. Philips DVD737) recognize Divx if I burn Divx or mpeg into DVD as data?
Or I've to burn as mpeg2 comliant?

Well Some modern DVD players like your own will support Divx format but not burnt like data, the same holds true to mpg1/2 files.

I had that idea about testing. only wanted to know maybe someone is tested...

I stumbled onto the information wilst finding what formats your DVD supports on playback...

You got a good one! It should play divx 5.1 and have no problems with Mpg1/2 formats, but as I said B4 burn the files as Video not data...

I have downloaded my movie to my hard disc using DVD shrink 3.2. by using this guide http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/16/59/ my files are now ready to burn to my disc but how do I do this ? ( what files do I burn) Iam not using Nero I have Pinnacle which came with my DVDwriter.
