Dual Layer burning

I currently have a single layer DVD burner, use DVD Shrink & Nero 6. I am contemplating getting a dual layer DVD burner. What I want to know is, do I need to do something different with my software so that it burns dual layer or will it be picked up automatically that it is a dual layer burner and do it anyway?

Nero 6 and DVDShrink works with dual layer.

The only thing you should notice is the high prices on the media. It's still cheaper to buy a hard disk than DL media with same amount of Gb...
