    Nero burning problems

I have a 4x DVD+ burner and can burn a DVD in around 15 minutes using Nero. I have the latest version ( I think it's 6 or 7). However, a while back it started burning really slow and took about an hour. So I reinstalled and the problem was fixed. Well it came back the other day. In the status bar there is a "used read buffer" status bar that stays at 100%. However, there is a "buffer" status bar that bounces from 100% all the way down into the teens. Could the problem be related to this? Does anyone have any idea what it is?

Do you have DMA set for your burner? Also, what speed are you burning at? (2x or 4x)

It's set at 4x and the disc is a 4x DVD. What is DMA?

        1. Make sure you have the latest updates for your Nero installed. www.nero.com
        2. Defragment your hard disk.
        3. 4x burning = 14 min, 1x burning = 1h.
        4. DMA: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=101616
        5. Don't run any other programs while you are burning that could affect the access to your hard disk.

I updated to Nero 6.3. My HD is defragmented. I have it set to 4x burning. DMA was turned on. And I shut down all other programs. It still takes about an hour to burn a disc. Any other ideas?

Are you using a demo version of Nero - after 30 days it will only allow you to burn at lowest speed.

And if you update to Nero 6.6 - it's free? www.nero.com
