How to burn Divx/xvid movies to DVD?

I'm a newbie on this subject so please be gentle. I've downloaded a bunch of movies (Divx/xvid and mpeg) but don't know how to burn them to DVD in order to play in the standalone DVD player. I have both the DVD/CD-RW drive. I've also downloaded this DVD Shrink 3.2 and the DVD Decrypter software, but not really sure where to begin. Can someone please help. Thanks a million.
