No log file. I used nero 6 that came with the burner. Why when I finalise a session on a dvd-r nothing cannot be added? It burns but cannot be seen on explorer?Comment

Not sure of that one kintetik. Even Nero shouldn't start to burn if the size to be written is too big for the meia.

Well, I search forums wide and far because I was having this exact problem and no one had a clue.
I burned many discs ok with a memorex burner on memorex dvd+r.
I realized the the previous movie that I burned OK was at the 4 gig size, well below the max size. I looked at the movies that were failing, movies that I had to shrink with dvd-shrink, and I saw that both of them were showing sizes of something like 4.35 GB (4,680,847,360). The logical size is small enough but the physical size is too big. I wouldn't have thought the physical size would ever matter. maybe it doesn't. But what I did was reshrink the DVDs and made it a bit smaller that dvd-shrink had set it to.
I was then able to burn the compilations successfully. This worked on two movies that failed to burn (failed multiple times).Comment

I think the problem is either windows ME or the fact that I have Nero 6.6 & Roxio 6 platinum, probably conflicting!
I'm building a new system & will install nero alone. Hopefully that will solve my problemComment

Better still, while you are disposing of Roxio, do the same to Nero. Burn with DVD Decrypter instead and throw away your blues.
