      Thanks Cynthia but the site has no mention of my LG GSA-4020 and only "firmware" for other drives. Roman Shelepov who reviewed the drive said how very poor LGs supportis. His review at http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/lg4040-multi/

          Thanks for your help Cynthia. I have checked out firmware but this seems to be a way to make DVD drives region free. I am just looking for the special drivers to enable me to use DVD-RAM on my LG drive. They are out there somewhere I will just keep searching Thanks once again - Rod

            Don't get confused by the latest sentence on that page. The version A107 is not a regionfree driver. "LG/HLDS/Goldstar GCA-4020B - A107"

            After that there is a new link on how to do your driver regionfree;
            "Region Free (RPC-1) firmware is available here. Patched by The Dangerous Brothers.
            RPC-2"
            Just skipp this part.

                  From the link I provided to you:

                  "The available LG burners include:

                  LG DAD-8020 with DVD-RAM recording format support
                  LG GMA-4020 with DVD-RAM, DVD-R/-RW support
                  LG GSA-4040 with DVD-RAM, DVD-R/-RW, and DVD+R/+RW support
                  Of these three, the GMA-4020 and the GSA-4040 are the newer models, and reportedly the 4040 is the first one to have support for all three available burner formats."

                  If the above information is current, it would seem that your model is not capable of handling DVD-RAM...

                        I don't think there is a GSA 4020. I have only heard of the GMA 4020. I have the GSA-4040B and that should be the first model with GSA in the name.

                          True, it must be GMA4020
