DVDRW cannot read DVD after burn !! HELP !!!

Liteon dvdrw sohw 832s VS0E. I burned a dvd with nero vision express 2, took about 1 hr to transcode... Then burns disc & ejects it ....successful burn....When I insert the disc it shows up blank.....double click & please insert a disc in drive comes up, the drive just keep blinking but doesn't recognize the disc. So the dvd burner burns the disc but cannot read them !

Windows ME
128MB RAM
20GB HDD
Liteon DVDRW SOHW 832S (VS0E)Latest firmware
Benq 8X DVD+R 4.7GB blanks
Nero 6.3111 Bundled

Have you tried playing the burned DVD in a standalone DVD player?

Something similar happened to me. I solved it by lowering the write speed to 2.4 when using 4 speed media on a 4 x drive. If you can be patient, try that.

So what speed to burn at, 2.4x. I have a 8X burner. I don't care how long it takes. I'll try lowering the speed. I haven't tried it on a home player yet. But what sense does it make that the disc cannot be burned again but can play on a home player. Thanks 4 the replies !!!!!!!!

I burned at 2X it worked great. I'll try burning at 4X when I get some blanks!
