format and region for DVD burning

I'm pretty new at this, but here goes...

I have a computer with a TV card, which I'm using to record TV shows. I then burn them to DVD (movie format) with Nero VisionExpress.

Now, I can change the format between NTSC and PAL, but I'm unsure if Nero VE also burns region information (I'm in the US, and want to send region 2 or 0 DVDs to Europe in PAL format).

I'm sure there are burning programs out there where you can specify this, but my question is for Nero VE in particular. My assumption is that it uses region 0 since I don't see anywhere to change this, but not sure. Also, does anyone know if the DVD player's region counter will be affected if I burn different formats/regions with Nero VE (and yes, I know about firmware patches, etc.)?

      Yup, I know

Still wondering whether Nero VE writes any region information, though.

In Nero VE I'm only deciding the format (NTSC or PAL), I'm not specifying region anywhere. Which region information is on my burnt DVD (TV capture -> Nero VE -> PAL -> region?)?

Btw, any "easy" way to see what region a burnt DVD is?

Sorry if my first post was unclear.

Well, I'd burn a test run onto a RW, then run DVD Decrypter on it which will tell you?
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!
