Dual layer on NEC3500, nero settings-HELP!

    Hi,

I have been looking around the web for information on Nero settings.

I have a full backup of a dvd that i have on my hard drive, that i created using dvd decrypter and dvd2one.

The problem is with the booktype settings in nero and what they do and what to select for burning Dual layer Dvd video disks.

Nero gives 3 booktype settings within recorder setup:

    Dvd-Rom
    Physical disk type
    Current recorder settings

What do these booktype settings mean and what are their uses.

Which would be best for standalone dvd players and DVD backup?

I am using an Nec 3500a(g) with the latest 2.18 firmware.

    Thanks.

    Re

How did ou back it up with dvddecrypter, did you select File Image Read so you have an ISO file and an MDS file on your HDD?

      Hi,

      Thanks for replying!

I used file mode in Dvd Decryter and then used dvd2one to make all the files Dvd compatible.

Any help with what the 3 dvd recorder settings are?

      Thanks!

Can't find where you found those three options. My burner don't allow bitsetting so that could very welll be why it don't show up.

        Dvd-Rom: Use bitsetting/booktype to make this disc a DVD-ROM
Physical disk type: Don't use bitsetting/booktype
Current recorder settings: If your firmware/burner is set to always use bitsetting/booktype - use whatever it is set to

        Three guesses.

          Hi,

          Thanks for your reply cynthia,

I have found that if i leave it set to automatic then it works!

I think my main problem was media compatibity.

Since upgrading to the latest firmware, i have managed to burn a full disk!

Hey nice picture Cynthia, reminds me of lucy lui from Kill Bill!

          Cheers!
