Out of curiosity were you using a full retail Nero 6 version?

And what version is the OEM then?

It may also be that the disks were bad but Ritek gear on G-04 is pretty consistent...

The version I deleted was an update that I downloaded from the Nero website, as it's now off my system I'm afraid I don't know the version number. The version of the OEM is 6.0.0.16

Any rate, who cares what version numbers!!!!! I am cooking on gas once more wahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Aboot yr Nero I cant imagine why shuch a bad version (full of bugs) would work with your burner and the other didnt unless it was one of those version that are, shall we say a not so official type...

Anyway I am happy it works but I wouldnt wanna try that.

I object your honour. What are you implying? The OEM version came with my burner, was in the box, when I bought it.

I am not implying or suggesting anything, there are however official version of Nero that had a fault with serial nr and activations by such of the software that caused diferent problems of similar nature...

However the most documented errors of this kind are caused by un-official kinds of this software...

For you to find out is to update to the latest version of your Nero 6 OEM to version 6.6.0.1

All you got to do if it doesn work is go back to your working version of Nero.... 6.0

Otherwise I suggest you e-mail Nero Support and say that you have a serial nr activation problem that causes you burner to burn coasters with the full updates... submit your old serial (the one you used for the Nero you unistalled and they will supply you with a new working serial for free.

But that's exactly what I have already done. Updated it, didn't work, uninstalled it and went back to my original OEM version. So, I guess we now know that I have a duffer.

I will email them tomorrow. What I don't understand is how just having a different serial number will make a difference? Surely if I redownload the update the same will happen again??? Sorry, I really don't understand what you mean.

i had the same problem, i was using hp dvd+r & -r worked fine then started using an expensive printibles it too work fine, i change brands to a cheeeeeaper brand than the problems started, some times i got burn error some times i have play back errors. try using a better quality dvd+/- r. hope this helps

mmm, for the sake of a few pennies it is not worth getting inferior media... After all when they fail it is still costing you for the failed disks...

Better media is a must and it doesnt cost a fortune...

RITEK is the way forward...

I love the printables... they are absolutly great, specially the silver top ones....
