    burning difficulty

    I am currently using DVD Shrink 3.2 along with Nero6 Ultra Edition for my backup burning of my movies. I have purchased the Memorex DVD+R's and i have been having problems with it along with other brands. For starters when my disc does finazlize and i play it in my DVD Player It tends to be choppy. when i try and watch the trailer of the movie, it is all choppy as well. the movie plays through the most part, but there are times where the pixels go haywire....Do you have any solutions ot this problem.

    To determine the capabilities/limitations of your DVD burner, as well as media compatibility, go to:

    (If necessary, open the Device Manager in the Control Panel to determine the make and model number)

    To determine the capabilities/limitations of your specific brand and model of standalone DVD player, as well as media compatibility, go to:

      I know that my burner and DVD player are compatable. It seems to be a problem with the burning process. What could cause my burned copies to be choppy with pixels. This problem is that all the time but the majority.

        To find out if it is in the burning process or in the playing process you have your problem - do this test;

        Download www.dvdinfopro.com (freeware) insert one of your burned disc and selelct the option "Test your media for CRC read errors" - if you only get green dots you know that your burning is ok and it is the player that causes the problem. If you get any read dots - you know something else.

          I tried playing my burned dvd on my home DVD player. Everything was very choppy (pixels going crazy). My labtop where where i burn my dvd's from. I tried playing the burned dvd on it..it played perfectly. I have tried it on 2 home dvd players, same things happens.
          I just wanted to add that when i go to MY COMPUTER my d: drive says DVD-RAM. Would this matter at all?

                  From another forum (at afterdawn.com):

                  Also there are some excellent "Hacked Firmwares" here -

                  Cheers,

                  Pete

                  BTW, I would suggest changing media unless ClipsKid comes up with something that says that Maxells are TY's. In my book, Maxells don't measure up.

                  I would suggest using some "Branded" Taiyo Yudens, some Sony, TDK, "Branded" Ridata, "Branded " Verbatim DataLife Plus, Ritek G04 or any media that boasts "Advanced METAL AZO" - BUT it has to include the word "METAL".

                              It still appears to be a quality of media related problem. You might want to follow the previously quoted suggestion:

                              "I would suggest using some "Branded" Taiyo Yudens, some Sony, TDK, "Branded" Ridata, "Branded " Verbatim DataLife Plus, Ritek G04 or any media that boasts "Advanced METAL AZO" - BUT it has to include the word "METAL"."
