    DVD backup

    hi everyone

Im new here, and I hope anyone can solve my problem. Ive been using dvdshrink 3.2 for few days succesfully, but suddenly it began to malfunction. It was working fine till i was using DVD+R but since i changed ti DVD-R( TDK)it burns the DVD to only up 10-14% and then stops.

After encoding the dvd, when it begins to write the lead-in, a write error occurs and it messes up the DVD.

Im using XP PRO, 512 mb RAM, 100 gb free on HD, AMD 2500+, and burning with Plextor 712 A...

here is the log I get with this error:

To determine the capabilities/limitations of your DVD burner, as well as media compatibility, go to:
http//www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdwriters (If necessary, open the Device Manager in the Control Panel to determine the make and model number)

Your burner don't like your brand of discs. Could try to update to latest firmware version 1.05 (you have 1.04). http://www.plextor.be/technicalservi...=DVD-Recorders

I update the firmware version to 1.05, and tried to burn and it looks the burner is working fine with this brand of DVD at low speeds(2x) , but still does not work at speeds 4xor 8x.

I have plextor 712 a and it si suppossed to burn at up to 12x.

Try a different brand of media - or go back to using DVD+Rs...
