New Nero 6.6 reads my source DVD is empty

Thanks for any help.I just installed Nero 6.6 and when I try to do a copy on the fly with a decrypted copy of a DVD back up, it reads my source dvd is empty.
I never had this problem with 6.0
Should I just delete 6.6 and go back to 6.0?
    Here is the error LOG.

Can ANY program "see" this DVD in the same drive that NERO says "Can't read this disc"?

      Yes,
I can play the dvd in that drive with inter-video dvd program.
When I put that same dvd in my burner drive and check it with nero , nero sees the track info.
So now if I want to copy a copy I have to rip the dvd to my hard drive and then burn . It's an extra step that I don't want to do.
I'm getting a 16x Benq DL burner next week. I'm going to take out my dvd rom and put in the benq. I'll have two burners. Since Nero registers the disc info on my burner now , I'll use that as the source drive and copy on the fly with my new Benq. I hope that will solve this problem.
Do you see a problem with this logic?
      Thanks

I just ran into this exact problem and have sent a note to Nero support for help.

My DVD is a home movie I created and in fact burned the VIDEO_TS folder with Nero 6.6.3.0. It plays fine everywhere including the DVD-ROM I am using to copy from.

Were you able to resolve the issue?

No Nero still does not recognize the source dvd files to copy on the fly.
My buddy who is a techwiz has the same issue.
So, now when I want to copy on the fly I use Alchol 120 that does the job.
If you here from Nero with a solution please get back to me; I'd appreciate it.

Will do. I am going to try RecordNow 6.7 that came with my drive. I used it all the time before Nero and it always worked although a very limited application.

BTW I noticed in some early bug fixes in Nero 6.x called out this exact problem as being fixed. I wonder if they have not re-introduced it.

            Thanks for the info.

By the way sonic record now works, but it is very slow.
I'm very happy with Alcohol 120. It takes about 15 minutes to do a 4.7 g dvd. I recommend it over Sonic.
              Take care

As a test I used a different source drive but the same burner and I was able to get nero to copy disc to disc. There a number of differences in this setup but is shows that nero is not totally broken but it is still curious why it thinks my DVD does not have any tracks in the first setup.

                No word back from nero.

I tried a different source drive myself without any success.
I will await your post when you hear from Nero; thanks again for the concern!!!

                    Goldie,

Still no word from Nero, I have about given up on them.

I had a couple of questions for you. Do you or did you have Daemon Tools installed? Are you using WinXP SP2?

I saw some interesting notes about this combination and I have them both.

Just looking for something in common here.

Last note then I am giving up.

I found I can read a DVD-RW or +RW in my setup that was failing. All the other discs that I was trying to copy were DVD-R.

Not sure why this would matter but I have heard that RW discs (CD and DVD) are more compatible with some DVD players.

Strange thing is I can open Nero and drag the files off the disc that will not DISC to DISC copy and burn them in a new project.

I have wasted enough time on this one. I usually do not give up on these things but I have had it. I am pretty sure it is still a Nero problem just not reading the DISC properly or seeing and attribute and giving up.

                        Roy,
I don't run or have any of those programs. I do run Windows XP.
I have found that there will always be a challange when working with the ever changing world of computer technology. It's a big pain in the _ss but we just have to find a way to get over that wall that's in our way.
Keep in touch with any new and good info that you think is useful.

I was acually looking around for something else and found this thread with a .dll posted. I renamed my old one and dropped this in without reboot or anything and it worked immediately.

Also I just got a reply from Nero today asking for more info which I sent them but I found the fix later.

Let me know if this fixes your problem.
