    Burn Process Failed

Hi, I've been using DVDshrink for about 6 months now. Originally I had been using Nero 6.3.1.17, I upgraded to Nero 6.6.0.3 and now I get a Burn Error. I've never had any problems before I did this upgrade. Here is the log...please HELP!

You need to enable DMA for your DVD Writer. Here is a link that shows you how to enable it. - http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=101616

Thanks, but I checked both my primary and my secondary, and both were already set to "DMA if available". However, on my secondary device, under device 1, the current transfer mode is set to PIO Only, and I can't change it. What should I do now?

If you go in to the PCs bios - is the IDE channels set to AUTO?

Another try could be to kill the device in windows device manager and then restart your PC and let Windows do a reinstall of the burner - and are you lucky it will revert to DMA mode.

          "7:36:15 PM #25 CDR -1106 File Writer.cpp, Line 311
          Power calibration error"

This is usually indicative of a hardware problem (laser misalignment or a dirty laser) or unacceptable media...

Try running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your burner. Maxell makes one that retails for approximately $10US...

            Thans again....
I haven't tried the PCs Bios, or the device manager fix...Setarip could be right, because I was able to get it to burn by using DVDdecrypter instead of Nero, but only when I put in a different DVD+R...I'm trying another run with another new disk this time using Nero from DVDshrink, hopefully this works out and it will just be that I hit a bad disc. I've been using Phillips DVD+R's cuz I get 'em pretty cheap from work , and that would be the first bad disc I've hit in a run of about 150 or so. I'll find out I guess in 8 more min....

Okay, Geez... All of that over a bad DVD+R, I feel like an idiot. That's just weird coincidence then that right when I do the upgrade, I put in a bad disc to test it out, I should of tried that first. Guess that's just more proof that computer issues are usually hardware related (if you count media as hardware in this case). But Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are several bugs in NERO 6.6.0.3
Ahead are aware of this and are working on fixes for the next release, in the meantime you should go back to version nero 6.6.0.1 and nve3.0.1.4
