I also went to the link in your replies to find out what brands of media are compatible with my burner, but all I could get out of the site was burners for sale, I didn't see anyplace you could get compatibility on the site.Comment

Those links, are on every post I make, and some of them are not even related to your problem. As far as the "Compatibility" site, you have to enter in the information regarding your current DVD player, hit search, and the results are just reviews on what people thought of it and maybe what media they had used successfully, etc.
Where the arrow is pointing, is where it shows you the compatibility. For example, it will tell you if your DVD player can play: DVD-R or DVD - RW. Or both. If they are in black, they are compatible, if you can see them but, they are grayed out, they are not compatible.
You would not need GSpot, as it pertains to .avi video files etc. and the codecs being used.
(You might be getting pop ups, that might be redirecting you to a site trying to sell you something. The site that I have a link to, should look like the screen shot I posted above.)Last edited by jmet; 11 Jan 2005, 05:14 AM.Comment

Also as I stated earlier I have burnt all these movies in the +R format, should I be using the -R instead. I also uninstalled several of the programs that I spoke of earlier. The only ones left are Sonic My DVD and Power DVD. I also flashed the drive with the new firmware update yesterday.
If you scroll down the page it will show you the recommended DVD+R DL, DVD+R/RWs and DVD-R/RWs. Make sure you choose the proper format. What I mean, for example, is that they recommend the Hitachi Maxell, Ltd media in the DVD+R format but not any of the other formats. So if you see a certain company mentioned, make sure you purchase the media in the recommended format.Last edited by Movie_Junkie; 11 Jan 2005, 07:04 AM.Comment
