    DVD Decrypter burning problem

OK, i have burned two dvd's so far with dvd shrink and decrypter, which seem to work fine. I am using DVD-RW's (Memorex) and i went to put the IFO image file onto the dvd with decrypter, and it starts and it says 'Writing lead in' then the write speed just drops to 0kb/s. I've tried this about 3 times, with 3 different discs and it does the same thign every time. BTW, in windows task manager i have decryter set to above normal priority mode, but what does the "BURN-proof" check mark mean in the dvd decrypter window? Any ideas what im doing wrong?

Post your log file from DVD Decrypter.

    Internal/External burner?

    Latest firmware installed?

Ok, here's the log, at this point it just stops, and the write speed drops to 0.0 kb/s. As for firmware, i don't know what that is, nor do i know if i need it. Thank you

Download and install "LiveUpdate v1.01" from http://www.drvupdate.com/ and perform a firmware update....

There is also a media list there which will let you know which media is compatible with the latest firmware.

Oh Lord - I thought it was a program that updated all brands of burners - but it's only for a certain brand of burners.

          To good to be thrue.

            k

i downloaded that, and it does not apply to my drive. I also tried to dwnld the firmware for my exact drive, and that does nothing also. I have that cheap drive everybody gets from office max for 80 bucks. Micro advantage or something. The thing is, i just burned two dvd's like a day ago that work fin, i have no clue whats different about these.

My apologies.... By the description it looked like a drive manufactured by BTC.

Although you said in your initial post that you are using DVD-RW's but in your decrypter log it shows a DVD+RW

My only other suggestion would be to try an alternative brand to Memorex, perhaps higher quality media such as Ritek or Verbatim.

Ok, i downloaded and installed the firmware, which still didn't do anything to help. Still, each time i start the dvd, in this case "The Hustler", it will say "Writing LEadIN" then it will drop to 0.0kb/s,

                          yea

yea, my DMA is enables, yet i still sometimes get the errors. Whenever i do get the error, it gets stuck on "WRiting LEadIN", yet when i don't get the error, it says "writing leadin" for only about 1 second, then skips to writing image and burns fine. Also, it seems to be that when i burn with a disc that already has a failed write on it, it works fine. ???
