Ok, based on feedback in a seperate thread,
along with posts I have read in this forum, I am beginning to think my Sony drive (DW D22A) might not be the best choice. There are a number of reasons behind this thought, not the least of which is that Sony doesn't appear to be good at releasing new firmware, and I don't want to get into hacking in a firmware not actually released for that drive.
So, with that being said, which drive should I buy? I originally bought a dual layer drive, but based on the price of DL media, I don't think I will be using that feature much. My main goal is to have a drive that will be able to burn +R media with a booktype of DVD-Rom with the best overall compatibility for stand alone DVD players (new and older dvd players).
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Billy
