Burning probs. dvd won't play past first menu.

Just new to this burning thing so I'm most likely missing a step in the process. I have managed to rip the dvd (Wimbledon) Dvd Decrypter put it in a folder of it's own. With PowerDvd I can select this folder and the whole movie plays. I then open it in dvd shrink 3.2 adjust the compression for the menu's and remove the other languages. I then click the full back up button and chose ISO Image File then use decrypter to burn onto dvd.
No errors during burning but when I play the dvd it won't go past the first menu. It just shuts down as if the movie is over. Burnt Riddick ok using the same media. Is there anything you need to do with dvd's that make you chose the language at the start and can you play ISO files before you put them onto dvd ?

Yes, you can play the ISO file, but first you have to "mount" it on your PC. Use DeamonTools for that. It will make your ISO appear as an extra drive (say F: for example), and then you can use PowerDVD to play from there.
It does not seem like you did anything wrong, so maybe it's a case of bad media. Check that the ISO does play in PowerDVD. If that works, use a DVD-RW to do tests, burn with Decrypter for example, see if that gives you better results...

try RITEK/RIDATA midias they seems to be the best.

thanks heaps I tested the iso file and it worked fine. So with your suggestion of faulty media I tried burning at a lower speed instead of maximum and the dvd played all the way through.

Do you know anything about the xvid codec ?
