Can a pro take a look at this Nero log please!!!

Very very new at this and had "Man on Fire" fail on me. The media and burner worked fine the previous 5 times for different movies, but this time gave me an error.
I have since enabled the DMA setting, as suggested. I want to make sure there is nothing else I should do before I try another burn.

    Thanks a bunch!!

            Hi Doc and welcome.

            1. Turn DMA ON (both CD/DVD drives indicate they are still OFF)

            2. Turn booksetting off. It can't be done with DVD-R (well, not without a lot of fancy footwork, anyway) ... coaster guaranteed.

            3. That ANWELL media is garbage - use them as frisbees instead of DVDs.

            4. Firmware is out of date - get an update to BYX2 here.

            You're trying to burn coasters????

            Regards

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the help.

Couple of things. The ANWELL dvd is just a couple i grabbed from work. I actually have a stack of BenQ 4x DVD+R's on the way as we speak. How is the quality of those? With a DVD+R, should I leave the booksetting checked or unchecked?

I looked for a firmware update on the sony site but couldnt find one. Thanks for the link to that one!

Coasters aren't the objective, but it seems to be going that way doesnt it.

              Thanks again!

                Hi again Doc

What you need to do is get the real Media ID. Do this with either:

                - DVDInfoPro

                - Nero CD DVD Speed /Info Tool (I use this)

                - DVD Identifier (http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/)

This will tell you what the disk really is. Then, check it out at www.nomorecoasters.com or here.

That site I gave you has NEW flashing next door to your burner and the letters BYX02. That's the lastest firmware for your burner.

Don't forget to make sure that DMA is on.

                Regards
