Write errors, unable to burn DVDs

I have a Dimension Desktop 8400 with Digital Video Disk Drive Read Write, 16X, HALF HEIGHT, PHILIPS, CHASSIS 2001, least that what it says on the specs.

My problem is when it comes to burning DVDs. I use a DVDShrink because usually the DVD movies are too big for the regular4.7GB DVD+R I have been using. I use the DVDShrink then I try to use Nero 6 to burn on an empty DVD. It will start the bruning process then I get this as the error, usually within 5 minutes of starting:

    12:08:57 AM #22 CDR -1135 File Writer.cpp, Line 311
    Write error

    12:08:57 AM #23 Text 0 File ThreadedTransfer.cpp, Line 228
    all writers idle, stopping conversion

    12:08:57 AM #24 Text 0 File ThreadedTransfer.cpp, Line 222
    conversion idle, stopping reader

I tried to use the SonicDVD, but I really prefer Nero and I like how simple it is to use. I have tried uninstalling both of these programs and reinstalled them and I run into the same problem. If anyone knows the problem, any advice, or another program where I'm able to get the movie on the disc without running into not enough room, and fixing the write error. I've made several coasters all ready!

I tried to ask Dell for help, but they won't when it comes to using those "bad" programs.

Could you post a log file from Nero ?

To do so, go here: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero
Look for a file named "NeroHistory.log"
Open that file up and copy it.
    Then paste it here.

In all honesty, I'm not really sure exactly what I'm doing wrong or right really. I went to my hardware properties and I checked on the primary for DMA to be enabled. This is what it shows, even after I check both for DMA enabled and rebooting.

I use DVDShrink to save the main movie to the harddrive and just try to use Nero to add those and I run into the problem. I've tried using DVD Decrypter and something my dad told me to use, but it was a bit overcomplicated for me.

I REALLY appreciate everyone being so helpful!

Try to kill the device (=burner) in the windows device manager and restart your PC.

If you want to know more about DVD Decrypter: http://www.dvdshrink.info/dvd-decrypter.php
