Burning to a Dual Layer DVD

Oh, thank you, blutach! From what I was reading, it was looking like I was going to have to update my firmware for my DVD-RW drive. I'm glad to know that there is a setting in Decrypter to change the booktype.

As for mock stripping the title, I already did that. When I was searching for people who had had problems similar to mine, I found some old posts of yours where you suggested performing a mock strip, so I tried that too.

I'll post again once I burn the DVD again. Thanks again!

Panasonic standalone

Hi Aaron!

As I read you are using a Panasonic standalone player for playback.

I bought a Panasonic S24 last week and now found out that Panasonic players don´t playback DVD+r media.
As DVD+R DL seem to be DVD+R as well, I wasn´t able to run only one DL disc on my player.
I burnt 4 coasters which I bought for 40 € and decided to wait until DL´s get cheaper and buy a new player then.

Might be that your player can use +R´s but look that option up on the internet.

Why not just buy a DVD player that plays all formats?

I found 2 DVD players today at Best Buy that played all formats for under $40! I mean come on, $40. We spend about that going out to eat at a nice restaurant. If they crap out after a couple of months, what have you really lost? (All formats = DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW)

If that's the case the with Panasonic, then you will definitely need to set the booktype.

Apologies for the time since posting last. I've been really busy lately, and a little bit scared to try burning the DVD again. But I tried again this morning, setting the booktype, and it works like a charm.
