recording zones?

Hello im Matias from Argentina and im going to buy a dvd recorder and I want to know if there exist recording zones? or if the dvds that i burn it could be readen by any dvd player?

Im thinking to buy the akai DVDRW120 what do you think about this recorder? the thing its that only records on dvd+r and it not record in dvd-r.... its that important?

It certainly CAN be very important, as some standalone DVD players can only playback DVD-Rs, while others can only playback DVD+Rs, and yet others can playback both (and some older players cannot play either)...
