Collateral....this movie is huge. Even when reauthoring to just the movie, the compression is still 69.5%. How did you guys go about backing up this dvd?
How'd you do Collateral?

Collateral uses a high bitrate so even high compression is ok.
If you want the full disc and keep the menu. You could still image the menu using MenuShink to just a few MB. (The R2 menu is 700MB).
You can always use a DVD RW to test the disc on a player or, just test it in a DVD Software player first.Comment

I have tested this menu extensively with MenuShrink and it shrinks wonderfully. It was actually a booger. PGC17 was a monster.
There are effectively 3 language units, although they are not, unfortunately, described as separate LUs. Anthing from PGC22 and on are wasted on someone who only wants an English menu and can be safely blanked / menu stripped.
IIRC, after blanking extras etc I had 80%, which displayed perfectly.
Regarding testing, you don't even need the VOBs. Just shrink the menu and load the DVD up in PgcEdit and burn. I would try on both your standalone as well as your software player.

"still have the directors commentary on it...anyone any clues on how to get rid of it?."
1) You could have DEselected that audiostream when you did the "Re-authoring"
2) Use your remote control's "Language" or "Audio" button to change audiostreamsComment
