DVD95Copy (commercial software) can EASILY copy (rip, compress AND burn - all at the push of ONE button) both of the titles you've mentioned...

jmet...this is why you are the King...I salute you. I almost gave up on The Forgotten.

I notice you did both movies using DVD Decrypter and ISO mode. Up until today I've done everything exclusively with DVD Shrink 3.2 and Nero 6 automatically without incident. Even worked with some of the movies I've seen here listed as problematic (all region 1) Is there a reason to adopt a different approach such as always DVD Decrypter prior to burn or ISO mode all the time or just stick with DVD Shrink unless something goes wrong?

I apologize if this is in an FAQ somewhere and I should've dug deeper prior to asking your opinion.

" Is there a reason to adopt a different approach such as always DVD Decrypter prior to burn"

This is necessary only for certain titles that are additionally protected by the relatively new "Arccos" copy protection...

It is merely a personal preference in regards to movies which can be done with just DVD Shrink. For the newer movies with the ARccOSâ„¢ protection, you have to use DVD Decrypter on them first. DVD Shrink cannot decrypt these movies. Such as "The Forgotten" and "The Grudge".

Using ISO mode is also a personal preference. You could use "File" mode just as easy and effective.

Thank you both for the replies.

Are there any known "drawbacks" from using DVD Shrink 3.2 and burning with the Nero engine if nothing appears to pop up as a problem? (other than DVD Shrink possibly becoming dated without continued development)

None that I know of. Its going to vary with each user and their personal preference though. I still use Nero Burning ROM 6.6.0.6 for my preferred DVD burning application.

                    Thanks jmet

Thanks Jmet! Worked great. Been trying for a few weeks to back those two movies up and caused nothing but my dvdxrescue to freeze up. You give very good instructions on how to back up properly.
                    Thanks Again!
