How to convert aspect ratio when backup DVD

I've got a Korean movie DVD. The movie should be 4:3 letterbox. However, due to its authoring error, it displays as 16:9 resulting in squished image. I need to set my DVD player to 16:9 mode everytime to watch this disc (for my 4:3 TV) and reset to 4:3 mode, and this become rather annoying.

I believe this could be overcome by editing the IFO file, as I've confirmed the raw VOB files in the disc can display the correct ratio. Any expert advice on how to do it?

    Hi metal,

don´t know if this works but y´could try.

Ripp it to your hdd with dvddecrypter. Then grap a tool called dvdpatcher ( http://www.wincesoft.de/index.html )
found here -> "PC-Tools" and change the settings. Afterwards burn to dvd again. Hope that helps.

    greetings

Manfred: That's what you do in a herd, you look out for one another.
