Help with burning using DVD Shrink and Nero

Instead of describing the problem I have the error log. Could somebody please tell me what all the different errors I have are?

It looks like your drive does not recognize the brand and/or format of media you are using.

You might want to check the website of your burner's manufacturer to see if there's a firmware update available for download...

What if my burner doesn't support bookmarking/bitsetting? Can I not use DVD-Rs? I got a deal on some a while back, so I have 100 of them lying around.

I also noticed this,

I also have a question about nero, this burning option in particular:
Burn at least 30mm(DVD+R/RW high compatibilty mode) .... if I am using DVD-R cd's should I have this option enabled? It is checked as default.


So far I have like 3 or 4 problems. What would be the best ones to try and tackle first? I don't want to be screwing with something if it isn't the problem in the end.

Allright I have a few more things to add,

I have 1 drive (C) on one channel
I have another drive (X) and the DVD drive (D) on the second channel.
Right now I am backing up to the (X) drive and then trying to burn do the Dvd drive, they are on the same channel. Will this cause problems?

The drive with the DMA off is not used at all, so that shouldn't matter I think.

What if my burner doesn't support bookmarking/bitsetting? Can I not use DVD-Rs?

Of course you can use DVD-Rs (if your drive supports writing to them).

For drives which do support bitsetting, do not try to set the bookmark when writing a DVD-R. See "What's bitsetting" in my sig.

DVD burner is set to master on secondary channel.
I'v got the bitsetting idea under control now.

I used Decrytper after getting everything on the right IDE channels and at 99% I got this message,

Brute Force Cracking Failed
File Name VTS_01_0.VOB
Reason: There were no vulnerbale blocks ..also happened for VTS_11_0.VOB and VTS_10_0.VOB

Decrpyter then finished and said that it was sucessful.

Then I opened the files with DVD Shrink , then about 30 seconds into back up I got the CRC on VTS_01_0.VOB .

Help is greatly appreciated.

Are you using DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0? Default settings?

Yes, newest version. I used the default settings and I tried using these settings I found on another forum,

"I'd like you to check your DVD Decrypter's settings. First, it should be version 3.5.1.0. Go to "Tools", "Settings", set everything to "Default". Then in the "General" tab change, "Removal Method" from "Normal" to "Aggressive", in "File Mode", "tick" Remove PUO's." For ripping in the "ISO Read Mode", "tick" "Remove PUO's" there also. in the "CSS" tab, under "CSS Cracking Method", choose "Brute Force ~> I/O Key Exchange" and "On Failure" choose "Yes". . IMPORTANT: In the "I / O" tab, in the bottom right, "tick" the box which says, "Ignore read errors". This is an excellent setting for dealing with scratched discs which may cause ripping problems. "

I also just tried with a smaller DVD, only 1 gig. Decrypter didn't run into any errors, but the same thing happened when I used shrink. Same file about 30 seconds in.

Are you trying to copy Original, Commercial, Pressed DVDs, or "something else"?

Original, Pirates of the Carribean was one, and the smaller one was a bonus dvd that came with a music cd. The smaller one is pretty much brand new, I watched it once.

2) "Pirates of the Caribbean" Region 1 (and, presumably, all other Regions) contains only the "standard" CSS copy protection
