burning at 12x with 8x media

Slower speeds may give less failures on cheeper media. but i use the ritek G05 dye(mid price about 25 GBP for 100) which are 8x but will actually burn at 12x consistantly without any issues. I use the superb DVD decrypter and very rarely get coasters, maybe 1/30-40. This outways any cost/time issues. If you watch the spead dial then decryter starts at 6x then upto 8x then to 12x. I am using the Pioneer 108 burner. I get no playback problems and these are easily the best media Quality/value i have used.

i burn a mix of 8x and 12x on ritek GO5's. I use a pioneer 109, i have been absolutely flawless in about 200+ discs. I use the rip with decrypter, shrink, and burn with decrypter...i love that prog!

Make it two happy campers! I always use Nero and the only time I have a problem is if I do something stupid (like reboot the computer half way through burning - LOL)

@amaru/jbra2 - I am with you - but everyone knows that! I find it fantastic that 2 very cluey guys like L! UK and Coujo can collaborate and make DVD Decrypter into the great burner that it is (as well as it's other well known functions).

i've been using nero for around 5 years now, burned many, many, cd's and dvd's, and never had a single problem.
