I'm having a tough time decideing on my new burner, should I go with the Sony 16X DL or the Lite On 16X DL. Give me some tips fellas. I currently have a lite on 8x just wanting to upgrade.

Sonys are very often just rebagded LiteOns - so why not buy the original?

Maybe you guys are right, my thinking was more of from an upgrade standpoint. If changing to the newer one won't gain me a whole lot I won't worry about it.Comment

I still use my old NEC 1300 burner. It can only burn at max 4x. The time saving is not that big if you burn faster.
You don't save much time if you go from 8x to 16x. Just a few minutes.Comment

Perhaps most importantly, there continue to be frequent posts regarding failed burnings (as higher burn rates) that eventually prove to be resolved by burning at no higher than 2X or 4X...Comment

the new plextor writer is getting rave reviews EVERYWHERE, its SATA too. I just got my pioneer 109 a few months ago, but i'll get the plextor soon
