Problem with DVDDecrypter

Asked the experts of the DVD Decrypter forum and kenadjian gave this answer:

This is an error caused by an extremly corrupt or damaged disc that will not allow DVDD or more correctly the drive to initalize, tell him / her to take the disc out, open DVDD, then try again.

Arrggghh this is so frustrating I did as was suggested and I am still getting the same error. So does mean that it is my c: drive that is corrupt??

Think you should try to clean the disc. Toothpaste is a good thing to use.

Is it an original DVD? Can you see any scratchec or damages on the surface of the disc?

It is not that the DVD Decrypter will not ripp it it is the fact that I can not even open DVD Decrypter to try and ripp it at all.

Even if you don't have any DVD in your burner/reader?

Yes i have ran my anit-virus and it doesn't find any viruses. I have never had this problem with any other program that I have on my computer.

And have you tried a system restore to just before you installed DVD Decrypter and then reinstalled it?

No I haven't tried a system restore. I don't remember exactly when I downloaded the dvd decypter the first time. I don't think that backing up a DVD is worth doing a system restore. I don't want to loose any pictures. Will I loose pictures???

No - system restore keeps everything in My Documents and its subfolders. Read up on it in M$ Window$ help file.

In any event, I think a full deinstall and reinstall of DVD Decrypter is on the cards.
