DVD Shrink does not open when you double click the executable

Has anyone had this problem??

I'm using XP Pro with SP2 on a Dell Inspiron 6000

I've tried reinstalling DVD Shrink 3.1, installed 3.2 over the top, uninstalling the app altogeher and installing 3.2 from scratch. This problem happens with both 3.1 and 3.2. When you double-click on the icon on the desktop, nothing happens. Same thing if you go to the start menu or c:\programfiles\dvdshrink\dvd shrink 3.2.

I have relatively no spyware on my machine or viruses, and my pop-up blocker is not interferring. I am also able to burn CDs perfectly fine.

My DVD/CD Burner appears to be installed properly and device manager shows now signs of conflicts.

I have a Dell Dimension desktop at home with the same O/S and everything runs fine.

I'm running out of ideas here.

Did it ever launch? If so, what has happened recently to the system? A system restore can help.

I added DVD Shrink to the exception list within DEP, restarted and I am now able to use the program as normal

another no launch

I have the same problem and have done the above suggestions/repairs
with no luck ........ sys resore 1 week , dep exclusion for shrink

shrink has been working for months ...recent problems were
playback was jumpy stop start ..I traced it to my aspi layer was missing and my dvd was in pio mode ...fixed this and burned one disc with shrink/decrypter with success ...

an interesting addition is that , I try to launch shrink (it doesn't) and then I will shut down/restart pc, i will get a msg that activemovie is trying to shut down(end task) If I try to launch shrink 3 times, it will try to shut down active movie 3 times ... weird !

Activemovie is not on my pc ..(?) file search shows nothing,
activemovie is the program on the disc ..Correct ?

getting there update

update is active movie is billy gates program ..don't know why it conflicted but I went to
add remove ..removed movie joiner still ng ...went into regedit and deleted all refferences to activemovie ..reboot ..shrink launches now
I am testing the rest of shrink ..at this time all is aok
