IFOedit breaks House of Flying Daggers

Ripped HoFD w/ Decryptor. Files play fine on computer. After using IFOedit to split the movie there is a very long blank period at the beginning of the movie (right after all the warning screens.)

I did figure out that the blankness exists in both the just ripped and the IFO'd VTS_11_1.VOB. The difference is that when you play from the menu (via VIDEO_TS.IFO) the ripped version plays properly and skips the blankness whereas the IFO'd one doesn't.

I don't know enough about DVD structure (yet) to fix the ifo/menu that got broke. Has anyone else done this and can point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Do you only want the main movie - use DVD Shrink to split it.

Thanks but this is for my complete backup. Shrink is what the wife and kids get to let melt in the van.

Use VobBlanker to split - lets you keep menus on both disks. See VobBlanker site for a guide.

What you are seeing is simply the effects of the blanked chapters playing for 1/2 second per chapter until the video is reached. It's easy to fix, you need a cell command on disk 2 in chapter 1 to link to cell x (the first one with video).

I'll take a look at vobblanker. However, the problem is with the first disk not the second. I have the second set to jump right to the movie. On the first disks I like to keep the menus at startup.

Have you traced the IFOs through to see what's going on? Use PgcEdit's trace for this.
