Disc error in home DVD player

I'm trying to backup my 2 newest DVDs - Meet the Fockers & Anchorman. Using DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink, it seems to burn perfectly fine --both are playable on the PC without any problems. However, when I try to play them on my home DVD player, it plays the previews fine, but won't play the movie. It locks the player up and gives a 'Disc Error'.

I've made successful backups of all my other DVDs without problems, using the same DVD burner and same media. All play fine on the same home DVD player.

Any ideas what the problem could be with these 2 movies??

Did you check for errors? you can use DVDInfo, Nero, other to check for bad writes. Did you change media recently? What speed are you burning at?

Test your burn - see my sig. read the golden rules in my sig. What media are you using?

1) Did you burn them at a higher speed than previously burned DVDs?

2) AFTER noticing this problem, did you successfully play some of your earlier burned DVDs on your standalone DVD player?

3) Have you tried running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on BOTH your burner and standalone DVD player? Maxell makes one that retails for approximately $10US
