    combining two sides

I have a DVD...an older one that uses side A and B....they are both easily backed up with no compression if I use two DVD's...however, I thought of combining them on one DVD..the compression was about 72%..not bad....would I use the re-author part of DVD shrink...I am asking how....but I think I was setting it up right....I opened one side and reauthored...dragged it to the left then opened up the other side and dragged the movie only to the left as well.....is that the way and will they play seemlessly...also, is it crazy to do that....or just keep as separate?

    thanks,

      Hi Cynthia,

Would I use the same guide to split a DVD9 to 2 DVD5 or like some movies come on two discs. I'm getting confused here because I've reading so many guides for different programs like info edit, which seems very confusing. Then I read Shrink and say I've got to be missing something here. THe problem I can't figure out or get straight is putting stuff on the 2nd disc and having it start when you insert it in the player. With infoedit you had to do a number of command changes etc etc etc, very confusing.

Some movies like Pearl Harbour or the green mile are on 2 discs and I'd like to put it on as many discs required to maintain max PQ but get rid of everything except the main movie and sound track.

I have read all the guides by a number of people on shrink and I,m still alittle confused. I've used DVDD ot rip the dvds.

Thanks for any help you can throw my way,
      Walter

If you only want the main movie - the above guide works.

Thanks I'll give it a try. I just looked at it and its putting two sides on one disc not two discs. I guess one disc would work if it will fit, but what if it goes over, I need a guide for burning to two discs. Or am I missing the boat here.

Another question, I saw a link to a site were you can get short slices which were for the end of disc1 of a two disc authored set which said "insert disc 2 now" or different sayings meaning the same thing.

Does anyone know where this link is.

            Thanks

                    Hi,

SO do I just load the insert into shrink and drag the files(5 of them in the one folder fron the shrink site) over to the left side and then do a backup like normal.

                    Thanks

Hmmm, okay but those are complied files and these are individual files, so I assume I need to put all of them after the main file which is on the left side. yes/no

                        Thanks cynthia

Hi, I'm sorry, once I tried to import it into shrink it did come as its own title.

                          Thanks

Hi, worked great, not that I had any doubts. Somewhere I read that DVDD and Shrink were made in heaven, I don't know if I would go quite that far, but they're damn fine programs and kudos to the authors.

                              Thanks A million.
