    Bizzarre pc fault

Hi i have a pc that burned a dvd once now it wont work, I have replaced the motherboard, cpu, memory, and burners (several of)
It gets to 99% of copying disk then the software just closes and returns to windows. I have tried the burner in another pc and it works fine there too. I have also gone from dvdxcopy to nero and nothing burns dvd's at all. Cd burning is ok, just not dvds on any burner i put in there. It has the latest firmware on all drives i put in, the bios is uptodate and now i am lost. I have formated windows and reloaded with base drivers and without base drivers for WindowsXp home and pro! Can someone help me?

You might also want to check if your system is overheating...

You are saying that you have replaced the motherboard, cpu and memory. Sounds as an upgrade on an old computer. Did you use your old hard disk with an already installed Windows version on or did you reinstall Windows on a new empty hard disk after the switch (motherboard, CPU)?

yes i have replaced every (EVERY ) single componant in the pc and rebuilt it everytime i replaced the parts. Its not an upgrade, just replaced the gigagcrap board with an asus and replaced their 20gb with a 40gb hdd and i repartitioned it and reformatted everytime.

Seems we have the same feelings about GigaByte and Asus.

              Welcome to the ASUS club.

The drivers for the motherboard are also updated?

Your burner is it an external or internal one?

Could try to burn an ISO file with DVD Decrypter just to rule out your burning software.

              Using good branded discs?

Your power supply - is that powerful enough?

It is an internal ricoh burner
latest bios revision for the motherboard and drivers / Intel INF updates
Burning anysort of dvd will not work
and it has a 500watt atx psu in it

You don't have any Intel accelerator (or what it's called) that could disturb the burning running?

The jumpers back on the burner are right set?
The burner is not connected to a RAID?
