    1 to 1 Copy?

    Hi Everyone,

I have a simple question, hopefully with a simple answer? I'm trying to back up a disk compiled by a friend (it's not a retail DVD).

I assume there is a problem with the disk, I've tried a straight copy using Nero (it fails at 54%). I tried to back the disk to my HD using Shrink, it analyses 91% then fails. I have tried using VoBBlanker but it fails at 91%. I have tried using DVD Decrypter and again it fails at 91%. I only used the software in an attempt to transfer to the HD (no shrinkage etc is actually required).

The message in Decrypter is the I/O overlap error. I know there is a problem which I doubt I can fix. I just want to copy the disk faults and all. Is it possible?

Is there software available that will merely copy the disk in it's current state? It appears to play ok but I can't back it up. As stated I tried a direct 1 to 1 copy with Nero but it won't do it.

    Thanks to all
    LB

    Hi LameBrain
A DVD Decrypter ISO read/write cycle would be my first choice.
If however, the errors terminate the procedure .. and the disc actually plays ok, I'd probably go for Alchohol 120%?

      sfheath,

Many thanks for your advice. Decrypter didn't terminate as such (I suppose I mislead you slightly). When it hit 91% and kinda stalled it had 55 retries listed and I gave up on it. Figured if it had tried to move forward 55 times without success then it was goin nowhere.

I'll seek out Alcohol 120% and give that a go.

      Cheers

Yup, I guess 55 retries is pretty conducive
Good luck with the Alchohol 120

Thanks m8, had a look at alcohol, I note it's not shareware but a trial version is available for free. I can't download in work so I'll give it a try tonight when I get home.
