Hi and welcome to the forum, fenixwest!

    Using a laptop?

The main problem is that your brand of discs are not covered by your firmware version. The burner don't like them.

There is a firmware update - the problem with this burner is that it can either be a Nec or a Sony rebadged burner.

Have you been able to burn a DVD with your burner before?

Your burner doesn't recognize the "Disc Manufacturer: LONGTE - N 001" DVD-R media you're trying to use.

Have you successfully burned this manufacturer's I.D. media and format previously on this burner?

Others may suggest a firmware update...

Try to avoid to have the burner and your hard disk connected to the same IDE channel.

Open the case, unhook the "Primary" IDE cable from the burner and put it on the "Secondary" IDE cable.

While you open the case - try to see if you can find a label that tells you if it's a Nec or a Sony.

Have you even looked yet? Usually there will be a big white sticker on the top of the drive telling you the brand and model number.

In order to find out what brand of drive you currently have right click on my computer ---> go to properties ---> click on the "hardware" tab ---> click device manager. From there you should be able to click the "+" next to DVD/CD drives and it will tell you the installed drives and their model numbers.
