What I would like to do, is edit out some of the foul language (and subtle sexuality) of a movie ("Back to the Future" for example) so young children could watch it. The edited movie would then be put back on a DVD with the other materials, so it operated exactly the same as the original (same menus, bonus, etc). It isn't important for the scene selections to be the same.
I've looked for a step-by-step guide, but have had trouble locating one.
I see that DVD shrink can edit out frames, but that seems to be only in re-author mode. I wish to keep all the items on the DVD(though it does need to be shrunk at some point to fit on a 4.7 DVD).
So if anyone can help me work through this process (steps, software, gotchas), I would appreciate it. I think I'd even like to compile the experience into a guide once I am finished.
Thanks
