    Burning Problem - help needed!

Hi, newbie here seeking help from you good people.

Here is my story - have been quite happily backing up DVDs using DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink 3.2 and Nero Express. Recently I got a spindle of Imation DVD+RW's and the problems started - the odd one wouldnt work but a Phillips would work for the same project. Now all Imation disks will not work - I got some TDKs and they won't work either - basically nothing is working anymore. I have updated the firmware from the toshiba site and updated Nero Why should it work perfectly and then stop working altogether.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum, zebar!

Try to see if your DMA is still enabled: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=101616

confirm/correct the DMA issue then check below to see if those imation discs are acceptable for your burner/player(s). i bet they are not.

        welcome to the forum

do you get any errors during any of the processes ?

if your burner/reader is old/older, perhaps a "lens cleaning kit" is needed

Maxell makes an excellent DVD/CD cleaning disc that retails for approximately $10US...

I'm on a MIC kick right now. If you have media of the same brand that worked before, check the MIC on one of them and then check the MIC of the same brand that is not working anymore.

You can burn on one brand of media - Philips, but not on others.

It does get quite hot now that you mention it - is there a solution?

                            Add more cooling/exhaust fans.

Cheaper route but, not a guarantee. Take the side of the case off and leave it off while encoding/burning.

No overheating here everything is well under specs to where they should be , i have 3 cooling fans running and no syst overheats, the disks just absolutly refuse to play once burned , if i use shrink or decrypter either way makes no difference. I have also tried apollo dvd burner and dvd fab same thing occurs , am i missing a codec that is needed to play the disk universally? or do i have a bad download or is my system just possesed not sure what to try next.
