Nero Burning

I currently use Memorex and TDK 4X DVD+R discs when burning and use the latest version of Nero. As of late when burning a disc Nero or computer sets the burning speed at 8x and causes the the attempt to fail mid way thru the burn.

Now if I use a DVD-RW it burns at a 2X and will come out fine. I have a stack of the 4X and hate to have them go to waste.

Any advice?

before you Burn in Nero lower the burn setting in Nero to 4x for the + media. You should have the 8x, 6x, 4x options, I do with my Liteons.

uncheck " enable burning with nero" in dvdshrink/edit/preferences/file io, & burn with nero manually (set the speed that you desire (4X or below is always safer)).

If you're burning with DVD Shrink, once you've loaded files for burning, click on back it up and go to the Burn Settings tab

Nero by itself

Nero is writing too fast 8x on a 4x DVD. This is when I use it independently from DVD Shrink. Can anyone tell me how/where to go into Nero and slow the speed?

Again it recognizes 2x DVD RW but not my 4x DVD R

After you select "Burn", you'll see the burn speed in the lower right corner. Click on the down arrow to the right of that speed - and select the speed you prefer...
