    Which media works best

    I have a Sony DRU-710A dvd burner.
I primarily back-up movies from dvd. What brand media would work the best?

I have the Sony DRU-510A. Verbatim DVD+R's work good with it.

To determine the capabilities/limitations of your DVD burner, as well as media compatibility, go to:

        hey iamsalty

I have the same drive and use Vertbatim - With no problems.

btw, this drive is actually a rebadged LiteOn SOHW-1633s

          Hey Alien Bay,
Which Verbatim discs do you use. I was thinking about getting the DVD+R for digital.

I had a seriously bad time with some Verbatim + R on another Lite On Driv. It was enough to get me to try Verbatim-R. Switched drives and media a the same time. They're an 8x Verbatim-R, but I don't have the box or label. Get'em at Sam's Club.
I think in the last 2 cases of DVDs I've made only one or 2 coasters, and even then I don't attribute to the media. I had upgraded Nero and didn't watch the burn speed closely enough and was trying to burn at max.

From our experience, the Sony DRU drives love Ritek media, which is a little bit cheaper than the verbatim range..
