    Fast DVD checker

Can anyone suggest software will validate the integrity of a DVD at the file system level? That is, a progam that will make a FAST scan to verify that every sector is readable.

I need this because lately several of my burned DVD's have become unreadable. I burn with DVD /Shrink and /Decrypter-with-verify, so I know that the disks were good when they're created.

I think this may be due to a package of 25 cheap DVD+Rs I bought at CompUSA, but I have no way of identifying them now because they are all burned, labeled, and intermixed in my library. Therefore, I'd like a utility to scan my library (200+ discs) to locate the bad DVDs while I've still got the corresponding ISOs lying around.

    Thanks,
    Joe

    DVDInfoPro...

"to locate the bad DVDs while I've still got the corresponding ISOs lying around."

What's the big worry? You can always create new backups from your original, commercial DVDs...

If you have more questions, always feel free to ask them...

So, I take that as a "NO?"

Why would you ask that, when as I said, DVDInfoPro (will do what you're seeking)...

Otherwise, I simply asked, "What's the big worry? You can always create new backups from your original, commercial DVDs..."

If you have Nero installed, Nero CD-DVD Speed (part of the Nero toolkit) can also scan your disc for read errors

I do indeed have Nero (6.whatever). There are a variety of tests available. Which do you suppose would provide the fastest go/no-go test?

              Thanks.

                A surface scan in Scandisc.

                Nero>Nero Toolkit>Nero CD-DVD Speed>Extra>Scan Disc
