problems burning a dvd+r data disc!

i've been having problems burning data onto a dvd+r lately, wondering if someone can shed some light on this. although i can burn using a dvd+rw with no problem. bought two different brands already, memorex & fuji (didn't have a problem before) dvd+r. here is the log file, thanks in advance!

just went through the "FAQ: the burning with nero failed" and solved the problem....woohoo! i had too many things plugged into the usb (6 usb devices), the firewire dvd burner now works! glad this forum exists!

is it necessary to update the firmware? my burner was from a company called kano tech and from their support page, they listed no updates in firmware. the link you gave me is for a ricoh burner, i assume kano tech probably are uses ricoh drives. are there any ill-effects to updating the firmware?
