    DVD+R vs DVD-R what do u think

recently i updated my firmware on my DVD R burner.

Originally the burner was DVD+R formatt; after the firmware update the drive now claims to burn DVD+R and DVD-R.

My question is which media should I use?
DVD+R works in all my players and I have had no problems with it.

Is there an advantage to either?
I tried to do a search (I'm sure this topic has been discussed before); but I got way too many hits.

    thanks

The only "advantage" of DVD-R is that its capacity is a miniscule 6Mb greater than DVD+R.

the, by all means, stick with DVD+R...

if it ain't broke don't fix it. I use whichever is on sale at the time. All four of my dvd players have no problem with either format except my philips dvp642 (I have 2) which neither one likes dvd +rw

My players can play either one. I started with DVD+R and then moved to DVD-R due to the disc being cheaper. I know can buy 175 DVd-R's for the same price of 25 DVD+R's nearly two years ago.

I still use DVD+RW and use the same exact discs from two years ago when I started.

well before i started this stuff i knew my player didn't like + media, i use only -r/rw discs and have never had a problem, so i change nothing--ever.
