Problems writing to CD-RW disks

I tried burning data from my new computer system onto a CD-RW disk and it wouldn't let me. It's not full. Does it matter that it's a 74 min disk and not an 80 min one?
I manage to add all my files and then when I click on 'next' the 'burn' part is greyed out. Is there a problem with a rewriteable disk or is the process different?

Usually the "greyed out" burn button usually means the right drive is not selected. Double check and make sure your are selecting the right drive.
