      Hello

What are your discs? (brand/model/mediacode if possible)
      What is your DVD burner?
Can you burn data discs without problem (with Nero for example)?

Ok just checked and saw these:

        I 17:41:30 Destination Device: [1:0:0] SONY DVD RW DW-D26A JYS1 (D (SCSI)
        I 17:41:30 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: TYG02) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x)

        ***I 17:41:30 Write Speed: 2x***

I doubt TYG02 likes 2x writing... try 4x minimum, but I burn all my TYG02 @8x without problem.

With Decrypter, the best option is to leave "MAX" as the write speed in my experience.

              OK too bad

When you select "MAX", at what speed does Decrypter actually starts burning? Does it actually mention "8x"? If not, maybe your drive is in PIO mode, then you just need a 80-pins cable and check that UDMA is enabled for the drive ...

If UDMA is enabled and you do have a 80-pins cable, here are things I would try:

.Updating the firmware of the Sony drive
              .Uninstalling and re-installing Decrypter
.Installing ASPI 4.60 or Nero, then set Decrypter to use ASPI instead of SPTI, to see if Windows's SPTI has a problem.

              Good luck

ok I am not sure what an 80 pin cable is or where it would be..and I have read several different places on the dma and how to get there.. but when i follow the directions it is not there. I can not find my primary and secondary channels. i dont know if this matter but my friend and I built this computer and I have an altered version of win xp

I do not know how to update the firmware. Someone sent me the site so i went there but it does not say how to do it and in big letters it says for advanced users only might ruin your drive? dont wanna do that ..

I only have nero 5.5 and that doesnt seem to do dvds..

and just out of curiousity if it is any of these problems would i still be able to burn on my +rw? and the day before i got the error i burned a dvd wth my -r.. so what could have happened over night? thanks for the help.

update your chipset drivers if your burner isn't connected via a scsi interface
and update your firmware to JYS3

you need to find out what make and model your motherboard is and update the drivers for its chipset from their support site

woo hoo.. I fixed it.. thank you all for all your help..

In case anyone wants to know how I fixed it...

Under IDE ATAPI I did not have primary or secondary channels.. all I had was NVIDIA nforce.. .. so I clicked on NVIDIA clicked on update drivers and waited.. after a minute a few things flashed on my screen but off before i could read them.. then it said restart? so i said ok.. when it came back on I had primary and secondary and the nvidia was gone..

I checked the DMA's and i think they are how they are suppose to be.. Still not sure why it worked 3 days ago and not since.. but anyways I just burned another dvd with the tygo 2

thanks again to everyone.. hopefully this keeps working and I am not back here in a week.. thanks
