need help with dvd too big to burn

i have been burning alot of dvds lately, but this one says i need to insert a disc with at least 7.80gb of free space. Even when i just try to copy the main movie without the trailers and other features, it still says the same thing. can anyone tell me why this is happening.

dl disk. you need to compress it with a program such as dvdshrink so it will fit on one sl disk

Perhaps you inadvertently changed the "Target DVD Size" in the "Preferences" settings.

It should be set at "DVD-5 (4.7GB)".

And if your not using a compression program like shrink your gonna need a dual layer DVD and burner or split it onto 2 DVD'5
