Bitsetting/blu?

I tried to understand it, I have read all the links(yours)
repeatedly, nothing quite adds up. First after upgrading
to nero 6.6xx my nec and lg started setting booktypes
automatically with dvd-r's, no coasters?????? And the nec's,
3520/40's according to your links aren't even capable of
bitsetting!

We all have different views - I make images with mkisofs and burn with DVD Decrypter - have been doing this for years with not 1 coaster to show for it.

That has now been upgraded to PgcEdit generating the images (manual setting of layer breaks, 32k spacing, etc).

Found some cheap 8x +R disc and burned my first +R disc with bitsetting on a Nec 3520. Used a modified firmware and Nero Express. No problems. Only drawback was the slow burning speed for those discs.
