Firmware update for Generic Dual DVD burner

I had such great success updating my firmware on my I/O Magic burner by posting here. The burner works noticeable better since the update.

I was hoping that someone might be able to furnish the firmware link for my other internal burner on my Dell computer. Here's the brand:

I 20:40:28 Destination Device: [1:0:0] GENERIC DVD DUAL 4XMax 2.17 (D (ATA)

It was an inexpensive model purchased at staples about 1.5 years ago. It said Hi Val on the box and came packaged with Pinnacle burning software. I believe the firmware is 2.17. Not sure if it's been updated since it was manufactured but I thought it was worth a shot.

Check out this link here someone with the same generic burner got a firware update for it and it worked fine.

Hmmm. Based on that that thread (thanks JM) which one of these should I use. 2.17E or the 2.60E OR 2.601

OPTORITE DD0201
Currently E Series RPC1 firmwares based on 2.17E, 2.23E, 2.30E, 2.50E, and 2.60E.

GENERIC DVD DUAL 4XMax (aka OPTORITE DD0201)
Currently I Series RPC1 firmware based on 2.60I.

by r1ngus' post he went to <GENERIC DVD DUAL 4XMax> Version: 2.60 - HA 0 TA 1 - 6.6.0.8

and everything worked out for him.

As always when flashing fw do so at own risk!
